We were elated when we got an email from a friend in the industry who had a handful of boxes of these amazing CROWNED HEADS LAS MAREAS.

Let me refresh your memory about this cigar

CROWNED HEADS LAS MAREAS was made by Don Pepin Garcia and Jon Huber at the My Father Cigar Factory. Its a Nicaraguan puroand all the tobaccos were grown by Don Pepin.

The brandingLas Mareas-is Spanish for The Tides, is inspired by the surf culture that Jon Huber experienced while in Hawaii.

Full-bodied, Med/Full Strength. Flavors of dark cocoa, espresso, heavy cream, brown sugar, aged leather, black pepper, coffee beans, vanilla, toasted almond, clove, licorice, and cedar.

Heres what Crowned Heads said in the original press release: “Las Mareas translates to ‘the tides,’ and the blend’s big-rich-bold flavor profile is a nod to the big waves of the world and the surf culture that surrounds them. Comprised of 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos, many who’ve sampled pre-release Las Mareas have compared the taste to a bygone era of vintage Cuban cigars. The binder and filler tobaccos in Las Mareas are all Nicaraguan, and grown on the Garca family fincas in and around Estel. The Corojo ’99 wrapper that finishes the blend, originates from what is regarded as the ‘original Cuban seed,’ and is grown under the expert supervision of Don Pepn and Jaime Garca at the Garca family finca in Namanji (approximately 20 miles outside of Estel, Nicaragua). Las Mareas is the first Crowned Heads cigar to utilize 100% Garca-grown Nicaraguan tobaccos.”
